Description: Taught entirely in the field. Training given in archaeological field research methods and techniques, including survey, excavation, artifact analysis, report preparation, and museum curation of archaeological collections.
Additional details: The Yama Project is an archaeological study of a late nineteenth-early twentieth-century immigrant village located on a 7-acre site on Bainbridge Island abandoned since the 1920's. It has been nominated for the National Register of Historic Places.. Class meets MTWTh 9am to 5pm at the Yama site. Transportation is provided by van to the site leaving from in front of the clock tower at 8:15 am. Return transportation leaves site at 5:00pm to the Bremerton Campus.
